Abstract
The revitalization of the Bugis Muslim Village in Singaraja is designed as a response to environmental, social, cultural, and economic challenges faced by the area. The design concept emphasizes strengthening the Bugis cultural identity through an educational and community-based tourism approach. This revitalization focuses on integrating four main elements: a traditional market, a maritime museum, homestays and tourism-oriented settlements, and the preservation of local heritage. The traditional market serves as an economic hub that supports local livelihoods, while the maritime museum acts as an educational and cultural attraction highlighting Bugis seafaring history. Homestays and tourism settlements provide authentic cultural experiences for visitors, promoting community involvement in the tourism sector. Meanwhile, heritage preservation ensures that cultural values and traditions are maintained for future generations. The planning process applies sustainable development principles, including environmentally friendly building designs, the use of local materials, and the revitalization of green and public spaces to improve community well-being. Through this integrated approach, the revitalization project is expected to not only preserve and promote Bugis culture but also drive the local economy, enhance environmental quality, and strengthen the sense of belonging among residents, ultimately creating a vibrant and sustainable cultural tourism destination.
