Abstract

The agricultural sector is the largest source of livelihood for Indonesians and plays an important role in improving the country's economy. Magelang Regency is one of the areas in Central Java Province that has potential in the agricultural sector. The design of Agricultural Training and Edu-Tourism Center aims to provide a place or learning centre to develop insights and skills in agriculture in Magelang Regency. In addition to being a training centre, this place is also a destination for agricultural educational tourism by learning how to grow crops to process products. This design applies the concept of eco-culture approach as a response to the typical natural conditions in Magelang Regency. The eco-culture architectural approach is used in the design to realise a sustainable development model by maintaining local culture and traditions, especially in Magelang Regency and prioritising the ecological balance of the surrounding environment. It aims to reduce adverse impacts on the environment, such as water and air pollution, which often arise due to the uncontrolled growth of trainees and tourism. In its architectural appearance, the design features traditional Javanese elements with joglo, limasan, or tajug roof forms and the use of local materials such as wood, bamboo, and natural stone.
