Abstract

The development of the Sangiran Early Man Museum as a tourist destination is hampered because the existing potentials have not been optimally developed, of the five clusters, there are 4 clusters that are less developed indicated by the unstable number of tourists each year, due to the lack of maintenance of supporting facilities, the distance between tourist attractions is relatively far, the absence of accommodation around the Sangiran Museum. This study aims to analyze the level of potential of each tourist attraction in the Sangiran Museum and to find out the development strategy of each tourist attraction in the Sangiran Museum. To achieve the first objective, field observations and interviews with informants were carried out from the results, then scoring was carried out to determine the potential of the tourist attraction. To achieve the second objective after obtaining the level of potential of the tourist attraction, a SWOT analysis will be carried out, the results of the study show that the results of the Sangiran Early Man Museum tourist attraction have two potentials, namely high potential in the Krikilan Cluster and the Dayu Cluster. While the potential is in the Bukuran Cluster, the Ngebung Cluster, and the Manyarejo Cluster. There are several potentials that need to be improved or developed such as tourist attraction facilities, road facilities, making management, and implementing educational tourism. The development strategy involves improving the quality of tourist attractions by utilizing existing resource potential while still considering environmental conservation. Several areas still require improvement or further development, such as tourist facilities, road infrastructure, establishing management structures, and implementing educational tourism.
