Abstract
This study was motivated by the low level of religiosity and self-confidence of inmates as one of the factors causing the high recidivism rate and difficulty in social reintegration after serving their sentence. The purpose of the study was to analyze the extent to which religious guidance programs including congregational worship, Al-Quran study, spiritual guidance, religious counseling, and celebration of major holidays were able to improve these two critical aspects in Class IIA Sragen Penitentiary. This study used a quantitative correlational design, a sample of 40 inmates selected by purposive random sampling following a structured Likert scale instrument to measure the intensity of participation in the program, the level of religiosity (participation in worship, meaning of life, adjustment, responsibility, and community solidarity) and self-confidence (self-confidence, optimism, objectivity, responsibility, rationality). Pearson test analysis showed a significant positive correlation between program participation and religiosity (r = 0.529; p < 0.01), as well as program participation and self-confidence (r = 0.351; p < 0.05), which means that the more routinely inmates are involved in religious activities, the higher the depth of their faith and self-confidence. This finding emphasizes the importance of the structure and sustainability of religious guidance in the rehabilitation process of inmates, not only strengthening moral and ethical values, but also increasing their psychological readiness to face challenges after release. Efforts that can be made include improving the quality of facilitators, periodic program evaluations, and integrating psychological support so that religious programs have a more comprehensive impact on the success of inmates' social reintegration.
