Abstract

Novels are literary works that contain values that enable readers to take valuable lessons and provide benefits for life, such as being able to teach us to live with ethics and morals, revealing educational aspects, revealing religious aspects, revealing character traits, namely understanding a problem that exists in the characters in a novel, and also describing the socio-cultural aspects in it. The purpose of the study is to 1) describe the aspects of moral values in the novel Merindu Cahaya De Amstel by Arumi E,2) to describe the structure and values contained in the novel Merindu Cahaya De Amstel by Arumi E, 3) as well as the results of the analysis of moral values and their relevance to learning in junior high schools. Using a qualitative descriptive research method with a hermeneutic method in the form of content analysis. The results of the study 1) The arrangement of the plot starting from the initial stage, the middle stage which contains conflict and climax, and the final stage, namely the resolution, A literary work will be able to show the place, time, and atmosphere in the events that take place in the story. The setting in the story is divided into three, namely the setting of place, setting of time, and social setting. Characters who have a close relationship with the main character and are considered important in the course of the story in the novel. 2) There are three moral values in the novel Merindu Cahaya De Amstel by Arumi E., namely religious values, friendship values, and struggle values. The moral values in the novel Merindu Cahaya De Amstel by Arumi E. human relationships with oneself consist of hard work, maturity, self-confidence, and responsibility, and human relationships in human relationships consist of respecting others, helping each other, and tolerance. 3) The Relevance of Moral Values in the Novel Merindu Cahaya De Amstel by Arumi E with Learning in Junior High Schools, namely: hard work, maturity, self-confidence, responsibility, respecting others, helping each other, and tolerance.
