Abstract

This study examines the role of nazir in the management of waqf funds for the expansion of the Al-Huda Mosque complex in Duwet, Ngawen, Klaten. The focus of this study is to determine the role of nazir in the management of cash waqf funds and the obstacles faced during the management process. This study uses a qualitative approach in the form of field research. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, in-depth interviews with nazir and related parties, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out descriptively qualitatively to describe the processes and dynamics that occur in the field. The results of the study indicate that nazir plays an active role in the stages of socialization, fund collection, administration management, and realization of waqf land purchases. However, nazir faces various obstacles such as: Such as low knowledge about cash waqf in the community, limited number of competent nazir, and obstacles in processing land title documents. Strategic efforts made include cooperation with takmir, transparent financial reporting, and personal interaction with prospective waqif. Overall, the cash waqf management system at the Al-Huda Mosque is considered quite effective and has the potential to become a model for the development of productive waqf at the regional level. This study recommends the need for waqf management training for nadzir and strengthening of regional regulations to support the success of cash waqf programs in the community.
