Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that remains a public health issue, particularly in Indonesia. Patients' knowledge about TB significantly influences their preventive behaviors and adherence to treatment. This study aims to describe the knowledge level of tuberculosis patients in the working area of Trucuk Public Health Center, Klaten Regency. Methods: This research employed a descriptive quantitative method with a survey approach and a total sampling technique. The study involved 31 TB patients registered in the treatment program at the Trucuk Health Center. Data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire based on the Guttman scale. Univariate analysis was conducted to determine the frequency distribution of knowledge levels. Results: The results revealed that the majority of respondents (87.1%) had a good level of knowledge about TB, while 12.9% demonstrated a moderate level. These findings indicate that most TB patients in this area have a sufficient understanding of the disease, its transmission, treatment, and prevention.. Conclusion The study highlights the importance of maintaining and improving patient education through continuous health promotion to optimize knowledge and enhance the success of TB control programs in the community.
