Abstract
Landslides in Karanganyar Regency, especially in Jenawi District, often occur during the rainy season, with the main factors being high slopes, unstable soil structures, and inadequate vegetation. According to data from the Karanganyar Regency BPBD, landslides often result in damage to infrastructure, settlements, and pose potential threats to life safety. Jenawi Village experienced a significant decline from 5 incidents in 2019 to 1 incident in the following years. This downward trend indicates an increase in prevention and mitigation efforts that are increasingly effective in the area. However, the risk of landslides remains high in areas with steep slopes and unstable soil. Based on the physical conditions of the area and BPBD data, it is very important to conduct a landslide potential study to identify landslide-prone locations that can be used as a source of information for related parties in formulating better mitigation strategies, especially in Jenawi District. The objectives of this study are 1) To analyze the level of landslide vulnerability in Jenawi District; 2) To analyze the dominant factors that influence landslide vulnerability in Jenawi District. The method used is a hierarchical qualitative descriptive method. The data used are secondary data obtained from related agencies with documentation. The data analysis unit used is the land unit analysis unit. Land units are the result of overlaying several parameters that describe the specific and real characteristics of a land. The results of the study showed that the Jenawi District area has 76 land units, with a dominant steep slope (39.99%) and steep (16.66%). The main soil type is Mediterranean, and most of the land use is for dry land agriculture (43.39%) and rice fields (12.54%). Rainfall is very high, with a percentage of 70.83% of the area receiving 2500-4000 mm/year. The level of landslide vulnerability is divided into moderate (38.30%) and high (61.70%). The dominant factors influencing vulnerability are rainfall (35.13%), land use (17.72%), and soil type (17.82%).
