Abstract

This article examines the development of Transportation Halal Logistics studies through a systematic literature review from the Scopus database, aiming to identify and analyze challenges and opportunities in implementing halal transportation systems. With the growth of the global halal industry and increasing Muslim consumer awareness of halal product integrity, transportation systems that meet sharia standards are becoming increasingly important. The methodology used is a qualitative approach with PRISMA diagram to select and analyze relevant literature, with a total of 13 articles selected from 28 articles found. The analysis shows fluctuating publication trends from 2010 to 2024, with Malaysia as the dominant contributor (58.33%). The most active subject area is Business, Management and Accounting (40%). The main findings identify four critical challenges in halal transportation: contamination risk during transportation, limited halal transportation alternatives, delivery time issues, and transportation infrastructure quality. This research concludes the need for integrated technology development, infrastructure improvement, and standards harmonization to support the growth of an effective halal transportation ecosystem. This article is expected to serve as a reference for further research in developing more comprehensive halal transportation systems.
