Abstract
This study aims to determine and test the role of transformational leadership style and work motivation on work engagement at X Hospital, Pati. Work engagement is one of the important factors in increasing productivity and quality of services in the health sector. The research method used is quantitative with a correlational approach. The research sample consisted of 193 hospital employees selected by purposive sampling with the criteria of working in the hospital for at least 2 years, health or non-health fields, male or female gender. The results of the validity test have a range between 0.8-1. While the reliability test is above 0.7 for the three scales used. The data analysis technique uses multiple linear regression to see the simultaneous and partial relationship between the variables of transformational leadership style and work motivation with work engagement. The results of the study showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between transformational leadership style and work motivation with work engagement. (Sig. 0.000; F = 60.373). Partially, both variables also showed a significant influence. This finding confirms the importance of implementing an inspirational leadership style and providing appropriate motivation in an effort to increase employee engagement in the hospital environment. (Sig. 0.000; t = 5.742), (Sig. 0.000; t=7.115).
