Abstract
Land disputes in Indonesia are an important issue given the role of land in human life. The background of this research focuses on the close relationship between humans and land, which is the source of life and basic capital for development. Land not only serves as a place to live, but also as a source of livelihood, so conflicts often arise due to land ownership and control. Law No. 5/1960 on the Basic Regulation of Agrarian Principles (UUPA) is the legal basis that regulates land rights. However, dualism of land certificates and legal uncertainty often lead to disputes between the community and the government. The purpose of this study is to analyze the procedure for determining the object of land disputes and analysis of the Karanganyar District Court Decision Number 2/Pdt.G/2024/PN Krg. The research method used is normative research with a statutory approach, as well as qualitative data analysis. Secondary data is obtained from legal documents, literature, and previous research results. The results show that the procedure for determining the object of land disputes in Indonesia still faces challenges, especially in terms of overlapping ownership. An analysis of court decisions reveals that they reflect the need for legal clarity and recognition of legitimate inheritance rights. In addition, the study found that mediation as an alternative dispute resolution can reduce conflict and speed up the resolution process. This research is expected to contribute to the development of legal science and provide insight for parties interested in land dispute resolution in Indonesia.
