Abstract

The absence of a father figure (Fatherless) in a daughter's life can have a complex psychological impact, especially in early adulthood. This study aims to reveal the dynamics of resilience in early adult women who experience fatherless conditions. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Participants in this study were four early adult women aged 20-25 years, selected using a purposive sampling technique with the criteria of women who experienced fatherless conditions until early adulthood. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with semi-structured interview guidelines and analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. Data validity was obtained through member checking techniques to ensure the appropriateness of the researcher's understanding with the participants' experiences. The results of this study indicate that the resilience process is formed through dynamics that include the meaning of emotional management, impulse control, decision-making skills, and empathy and self-efficacy. Despite experiencing the absence of a father's role, participants were able to demonstrate positive adaptation and strong psychological resilience in dealing with life's pressures. This study emphasizes the importance of self-regulation skills in building resilience. These findings are expected to be a reference in psychological assistance for individuals with a fatherless background.
