Abstract
Anime is one of the freedoms of expression of manga artists expressed in print and electronic media. In the anime Gakuen Babysitters tells the story of siblings who face the challenges of reality after their parents die in a plane crash. This study aims to determine the representation of communication styles between siblings who lose their parents in the anime Gakuen Babysitters. This is in line with the representation that re-arranges ideas in life expressed through the media. This study uses a Qualitative approach with the Roland Barthes Semiotic method. The sampling technique used is Purposive Sampling and the data collection technique used is documentation. While the Triangulation technique is used to verify the validity of data from various points of view. The results of this study indicate that the representation of interpersonal communication styles displayed verbally and nonverbally between siblings is divided into several categories, namely caring, protection and affection which through elements of point of view/angle, dialogue and audio visuals in the anime Gakuen Babysitters successfully construct social meaning.
