Abstract

Pacitan is one of the largest cocoa producing regions in East Java, amounting to 2,254 tons per month in the last decade. The development of 400 hectares of cocoa land in Pacitan was started by the East Java Provincial Government in 2006. In addition, demand for processed chocolate products on the market in East Java has increased by 7% as reported by the Provincial Government in 2019. Therefore, a building design that can fulfill chocolate production activities and a place to enjoy a variety of chocolate foods as well as recreational educational tourism facilities for tourists visiting Pacitan. This design is based on literature studies, observations and precedents related to existing problems. To produce a representative and innovative design, the designer's and architectural approaches must be taken into account. This approach must take into account the structure of the building, the emphasis on modern design, the landscape, technological advances, the demands of the times, and the harmony between design and human needs. And all these aspects are in the Contemporary Architectural Style which will be used as a reference in designing Cafes and Chocolate Factories in Pacitan.
