Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of teaching methods in the teaching and learning process, which help teachers deliver lesson materials and assist students in understanding the material presented by the teacher. It highlights the necessity of the teacher’s role as an educator in applying classical learning methods to students so that they are able to understand and implement the material in their daily lives. This study focuses on how the classical learning method is applied in the subject of Fiqh, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation at SMP Muhammadiyah 10 Surakarta.This research is a field study using a descriptive qualitative approach. The sources of data include Fiqh subject teachers, with additional data obtained from journals and documents. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document studies, and were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data verification was conducted using triangulation of techniques and sources. The results of the study show that the use of the classical learning method is well implemented to support students’ understanding during the classroom learning process. In its application, two types of factors influence the success of implementing the classical learning method: supporting factors and inhibiting factors. The supporting factors include the availability of facilities and infrastructure, students’ learning motivation, and support from the school. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include students’ lack of concentration and the challenge of standardizing the teaching methods. Keywords: implementation, classical learning methods, fiqh.
