Abstract

The learning process for early childhood is more effective when conducted through a play-and-learn approach. In the current digital era, interactive learning methods based on technology are better suited to support an enjoyable learning process. One of the problems encountered is the lack of engaging and interactive learning media for introducing animals to young children. This research aims to develop digital-based learning media in the form of an educational game for animal introduction. The system for this game is developed using the Game Development Lifecycle (GDLC) method, which includes initiation, pre production, production, testing, beta, and release stages. The game is designed to assist the learning process and is created using Construct 2, an HTML5-based software specifically designed for developing 2D games. The results of this research include a digital educational game for animal introduction that enhances children's learning interest and provides an enjoyable learning experience. The game is equipped with interactive features such as animal name introduction, arranging animal name letters, and matching animal pictures. Testing was conducted through direct user trials using the Black Box method and the System Usability Scale (SUS) to evaluate aspects of comfort, interactivity, and ease of use. In conclusion, the educational game developed in this research is expected to serve as an interactive learning medium and facilitate educational activities.
