Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model based on Ethnoscience on the learning outcomes of class X students of SMA Muhammadiyah Pontren Imam Syuhodo on Environmental Pollution Material. This type of research is quantitative using the true experiment method with a randomized control group pretest-posttest design, where in this study there are two groups of objects, namely the experimental class and the control class, the first group (experimental class), was treated by applying the Project Based Learning model based on Ethnoscience. The population in this study were all class X students consisting of 4 classes. The sample in this study amounted to 37 students. Sampling using cluster random sampling technique so that class X.E3 was obtained as the experimental class and class X.E4 as the control class. The results of hypothesis testing using the Independent T-Test test of learning outcomes show that t count = 3.599 with a probability value (sig.) Of 0.001 <0.05, then H0 is rejected, which means that there is a significant influence on students' cognitive learning outcomes. Meanwhile, the results of the Independent T-Test of student creativity show that t count = 10.552 with a probability value (sig.) of 0.000 <0.05, then H0 is rejected, which means that there is a significant influence between the PjBL learning model and student creativity. The application of a project-based learning model by utilizing mahogany sawdust waste (grajen) as a natural ecoprint batik dye is very important to be applied to students because it can improve students' cognitive learning outcomes and creativity.
