Abstract

This study aims to describe the independence of learning mathematics of fourth grade students of SD Negeri 02 Pereng Mojogedang Karanganyar in the context of the digital era. The approach used is qualitative with ethnographic methods, which focus on three main indicators: self-confidence, the ability to solve problems independently, and independence in completing tasks. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation, with data validity obtained through triangulation of techniques and sources. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model, through the stages of data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that independence in the aspect of self-confidence was reflected in the majority of students who showed an optimistic and responsible attitude in learning mathematics. In the aspect of problem solving, students were able to understand problems, plan strategies, solve problems, and check the results without the help of others. In addition, in the aspect of completing tasks, students were able to work on tasks independently, compile steps for completion, and make improvements after receiving feedback. The use of digital media such as YouTube and Quizizz is very helpful in forming independent and reflective learning habits. Therefore, it is important to continue to develop technology integration in mathematics learning to encourage student independence. However, this study has limitations, such as the subjects were only one class, the material was limited to the topic of square and rectangle area, and the duration did not cover the long term. For further research, it is recommended to involve various levels of education, expand the learning materials, and use mixed methods to obtain more comprehensive results.
