Abstract
Legal protection for victims of violent crimes and misuse of sharp weapons is a very important issue in the context of law enforcement in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the legal protection mechanisms applied to victims, as well as the sanctions imposed on perpetrators. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with data analysis obtained from case studies and literature reviews. The results of the study indicate that although there are laws regulating victim protection, their implementation still faces various obstacles, such as lack of public awareness and support from law enforcement officers. Therefore, strategic steps are needed to strengthen legal protection, including increasing public education about victims' rights and strengthening coordination between related institutions. This study also highlights the importance of the role of the community in preventing violent crimes and misuse of sharp weapons, as well as the need for psychological support for victims. With the existence of rehabilitation and social reintegration programs, it is hoped that victims can recover and return to functioning in society. This study recommends the need to revise existing regulations to be more responsive to the dynamics of developing crime, as well as increasing training for law enforcement officers in handling cases of violence. Thus, legal protection for victims can be more effective and provide a sense of security for the community.
