Abstract
PT Roda Pasifik Mandiri is a manufacturing company engaged in bicycle production for more than 15 years. Based on production data for January - June 2024, it is known that there is instability in production output on the bicycle assembly line caused by waste. The aim of this research is to understand the production process, identify the waste that occurs and provide suggestions for reducing waste using the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Value Stream Analysis Tools (VALSAT) methods. Waste identification was obtained by distributing a questionnaire form on a scale of 1-5 (having no influence to the most influence) to the relevant employees and it was discovered that some of the most dominant wastes were transportation (x̄ = 3.75), waiting (x̄ = 3.66) and unnecessary inventory (x̄ = 3.41). Next, weighting was carried out using VALSAT to determine the most dominant tools for the waste reduction proposal process, namely Process Activity Mapping (37.02%), Supply Chain Response Matrix (22.63%) and Demand Amplification Mapping (14.26%) as well as fishbone diagram analysis to find the root of the problems that occurred. The research results showed a proposal for reducing waste in the bicycle assembly process with a cycle time reduction of 0.559 min/unit.
