Abstract

Implementation is a dynamic process in which various activities are carried out in order to achieve the goals or missions set. Therefore, one of them is at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura, which has a program (BTA). This program was held because there were some students who were not yet able to read the mushaf well, even some still read in Latin script from the Arabic text. Therefore, SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura held a BTA program to help children to deepen their understanding of the mushaf. This study aims to describe the implementation of the BTA program at the school and identify factor that support and hinder success at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura This research is a field research with a descriptive phenomenological approach. This research was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura from July to August 2024. The subjects of the research were teachers who acted as supervisors of the Al-Qur'an Reading and Writing (BTA) program, while the informants were all students in grades 7 to 9 at the school. Data were collected through interviews, documentation, and observation. The validity of the data was tested using triangulation and methods. Data analysis was carried out using the Huberman and Miles innovation thinking model, such as data presentation, conclusions and data reduction. The results of this data describe the (BTA) program at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura which is implemented from Monday to Thursday. The activities carried out are reading the Al-Qur’an and iqro', writing selected verses, and memorizing letters. The method applied in this program is the peer tutor method. Its implementation consists of three methods: 1) introduction, 2) core method, and 3) closing. Several factors support its success, such as the solidarity of teachers and homeroom teachers who actively guide students to read the mushaf and their high enthusiasm. In addition, the availability of adequate infrastructure also supports the smooth running of the program. However, there are several obstacles in its implementation. One of them is the lack of student motivation, so they need encouragement to be more enthusiastic in participating in the BTA program. In addition, there are still students in grades VII to IX who read using iqro' or latin script from the Al-Qur’an text. Some students are also difficult to control because they are influenced by their peers, which causes the classroom atmosphere to be less conducive.
