Abstract

This study analyzes memes related to the Kanjuruhan tragedy posted on the Facebook page “Dikala anda M e n o n t o n T e l e v i s i 4 . 0 “Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the study examines the social meanings within memes through the dimensions of content, form, and stance. Primary data were obtained from 8 memes selected using purposive sampling during the period of October 2–12, 2022. The analysis reveals that most memes use satire to criticize entities related to the tragedy, employing a humorous communication style that entertains while conveying social critique. This research highlights how memes have become a new medium for delivering social and cultural messages in the digital era.
