Abstract
The eruption event on the Merapi Volcano which is prolonged with Indonesia often experiences earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, especially on the island of Java, which is often passed by a path known as the ring of fire caused by the movement of the three most active plates in the world, giving rise to the idea of disaster risk in the form of an analysis of the risk level of hot cloud risks of the eruption of the Merapi Volcano in Cangkringan District for the affected population. This study aims to (1) Analyze the level of danger of hot clouds of the eruption of Mount Merapi in Cangkringan District (2) Analyze the level of vulnerability and risk of hot clouds of the eruption of Mount Merapi to residents in Cangkringan District. The sampling method of this study uses stratified sampling using secondary data analysis that has been observed and validated. The data analysis technique uses qualitative-quantitative analysis. The results were (1) the disaster-prone area of Cangkringan District was divided into high class with a score of 0.8 included in KRB III in red, medium class with a score of 0.4 - 0.7 included in KRB II in yellow, and low class with a score of 0.1 - 0.3 included in KRB I in green. The residential area in KRB II reaches an area of 648.66 ha, the residential area in KRB II reaches an area of 648.66 ha, KRB I has a residential area of only 5.73 ha. (2) the social vulnerability of the population using three parameters obtained the vulnerability index in Cangkringan District was 0.7 with high information. The area of risk of eruption of hot clouds in Cangkringan sub-district is 950.62 ha, the area of low risk is 57.46 ha, and the area of medium risk is 3425.11 ha. Better disaster management efforts have been widely implemented as well as socialization and education of the early warning system in the form of the installation of monitoring equipment for the activity of the Merapi volcano. Many warning signs have also been installed. It is hoped that people who have a place to live in areas affected by the eruption can prepare and further increase their awareness to face the eruption disaster of the Merapi Volcano.
