Abstract

Rice fields are a type of agricultural land that requires irrigation as an important factor in maintaining soil quality and optimal crop yields. Ineffective irrigation can cause a shortage or excess of water which results in crop failure or low yields. Therefore, a control system is needed that can help farmers regulate the flow of water into the fields and out of the fields. An automatic water gate control system is one solution that can help farmers regulate the flow of water into the fields or regulate the water output from the fields automatically. This control system has 2 water gates, namely water inlet and outlet. The system is controlled using an Arduino microcontroller which is paired with a water level sensor and a rain sensor. The water level has 3 levels, namely level 1 to level 3. At each level shift there is a standard deviation, for level 1 to level 2 it is 0.1549 cm, and for level 2 to level 3 it is 0.1729 cm. The standard deviation shows that between the specified standard data and data that is more than the standard data or data that is less than the standard data, there is not too much of a difference. The research results work according to the initial design and the sluice gate works as desired.
