Abstract

Introduction: Both hereditary and environmental variables influence how quickly a baby grows. One of these involves stimulating the genes that are known to be involved in motor development in infants. Stimulation helps newborns develop their fundamental abilities for healthy growth. Babies may benefit from tummy time exercises, which include putting them in a prone position for 30 to 60 minutes every day starting at birth. This helps them build strong neck, shoulder, arm, and torso muscles, which are necessary for exploring their surroundings and interacting with their carer. Purpose of the study : Researchers set out to measure the impact of tummy time on the kind of crawling in infants between the ages of 6 and 9 months. Research method : This field of study relies on experimental approaches that are characterised by their quantitative nature. The study design incorporates a one-group pretest-posttest design, which is a kind of pre-experimental design. Results : The results of the study, which were evaluated using the Kendall's tau test, showed that crawling type was influenced by tummy time in babies aged 6-9 years (p < 0.05). Conclusion : In infants between the ages of 6 and 9 months, tummy time influences the sort of crawling that occurs.
