Abstract

This study examines the influences that affect computational thinking by specifically focusing on the role of self-efficacy and creative skills. The purpose of this study (1) Analyse the direct effect of self-efficacy on students’ computational thinking ability level, (2) Analyse the direct effect of creative skills on students’ computational thinking ability level, (3) Analyse the effect between self-efficacy and creative skills on students' computational thinking ability level. This study is a quantitative research. The participants consisted of 128 students from two classes in a public school and two classes in a private school who were asked to complete a series of questionnaires and multiple-choice tests and essay questions. Based on the results of multiple linear regression tests, it was concluded that with an f test of 161.428 simultaneously there is an influence between self-efficacy and creative skills on computational thinking with the value of f count> f table. Partial test results with a t table value of 1.979, self-efficacy (X1) is 8.945> 1.979, while creative skills (X2) is 9.426> 1.979, then both variables have a significant influence on the computational thinking variable. The adjusted R square value of 0.716 concludes that the contribution of the influence of the independen variable on the dependen variable simultaneously is 71.6%, 28.4% is influenced by other variables.
