Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is still an unsolved problem. Over time, the number of juvenile delinquency cases has not decreased and has even increased. Juvenile delinquency that is not immediately addressed will cause various negative impacts and needs to be addressed immediately. Juvenile delinquency is influenced by several factors, including adolescent attachment to parents and peer conformity. This study aims to determine the influence of attachment to parents on juvenile delinquency, the influence of peer conformity on juvenile delinquency, and the influence of attachment to parents and peer conformity on juvenile delinquency. This study uses a quantitative approach. The population of this study were students of SMP X consisting of 19 classes then 5 classes were taken as samples so that 155 students were obtained as samples. The sampling technique used was Cluster Random Sampling. The data collection method used 3 scales, namely: Juvenile Delinquency Scale, Attachment to Parents Scale and Peer Conformity Scale. Multiple linear regression became the data analysis used. The results showed that the hypothesis was accepted. Where there is a significant influence between attachment to parents and peer conformity on juvenile delinquency R = 0.861, F = 218.789; p = 0.000; p <0.01. There is a significant negative influence between attachment to parents on juvenile delinquency rx1y = -0.745, t = -11.982; p = 0.000; p <0.01. And there is a significant positive influence between peer conformity and juvenile delinquency rx2y 0.706, t = 10.496; p = 0.000; p <0.01.The level of juvenile delinquency in SMP X is relatively low with attachment to parents and peer conformity being classified as moderate. Attachment to parents contributes 40.5%, peer conformity 33.7% and the other 25.8% is influenced by other factors.
