Abstract

Nowadays, the phenomenon of the use of code-mixing is very easy to find in various groups of Indonesian society. This is due to the popularity of the bilingual ability of Indonesian people, especially in English. This current reserach focused on the code mixing used by the bilingual family of Dhannisa Cho in her Tiktok video. The objectives of the study were: (1) to classify the types of code mixing used by the Dhannisa Cho's bilingual family in her Tiktok video; and (2) to find out the factors that cause code mixing used by the Dhannisa Cho's bilingual family in her Tiktok video. This type of research was qualitative research that used content analysis techniques in obtaining data. The data of this research came from Dhannisa Cho's TikTok videos that contained code mixing. This research found three types of code mix in Dhannisa Cho's Tiktok video, namely: insertion (47.06%), alternation (55.21), and congruent lexicalization (2.94%). And there are four factors that cause code mixing: bilingual factor (32.35%), speaker and partner factor (5.88%), situation factor (11.76%,), and vocabulary factor (50%). Code mixing in the form of alternation with vocabulary factor is the main type and causal factor of code mixing used in Dhannisa Cho's bilingual family Tiktok video.
