Abstract

English is an international language that is very crucial to master, especially in this era of globalization. Good English language skills and the ability to be active in the learning process are very important for students, especially at the Elementary School or Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level. Often, children face difficulties in learning English due to limited interactive learning media. Therefore, the purpose of making this English educational game is to facilitate the learning process and assist teachers in teaching activities. The method used in this study is the Game Development Life Cycle (GDLC). The data needed for game development was obtained through interviews with English teachers at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah Gonilan. Construct 2 software was used to develop the educational game. Game testing was carried out using the blackbox testing method and System Usability Scale (SUS). Based on the results of blackbox and SUS testing, it can be concluded that the game functions as it should, with an average SUS score of 79.3 which indicates that this game is acceptable and can be used as an alternative learning media for teachers and students, especially in grade 5 of MIM Gonilan Elementary School.
