Abstract
Plastic is a polymer material that is widely used in everyday life because it has advantages such as being lightweight, corrosion resistant, easy to shape, and inexpensive. One of the techniques commonly used in the manufacture of plastic products is injection molding, which allows plastic to be molded according to mold design. However, in the production process, obstacles are often found such as product defects, long cycle times, and obstacles to the flow of liquid plastic to the gate due to pressure, temperature, or mold design. This study aims to modify the dead-end type runner with angles of 60°, 85°, and 95° to improve the quality of PVC resin flow, optimize the supply of liquid resin, and accelerate the production cycle time. Simulations were carried out to analyze the effect of angles on the flow of PVC resin to the tunnel-type cavity gate. The results of the study are expected to contribute to improving the quality of plastic products, production time efficiency, and supporting cost reduction activities in the plastic industry.
