Abstract

The increase in the form of motorcycle theft crime during this period will make the mind of motor vehicle users uncomfortable, even though motorcycles already have a secure key shutter lock feature, but it is still easy for thieves to break in. Therefore, the author made a research on the Design and Construction of Motor Vehicle Safety Systems Based on Finggerprint, GPS Tracker, and SMS Gateway. This research aims to make a safety system design where 3 main components are used as the security system, namely first, the fingerprint component aims to enter a registered fingerprint so that it can start the motorcycle starter, then GPS is a component that aims to find out the coordinate point of the motorcycle location. The location point can be known by entering the SMS message connected to the sim800l. The SIM800L component is a GSM/GPRS module that allows the device to send SMS, make calls, and access the internet over a 2G network. It has a function to connect SMS on a smartphone to this system which aims to find out the location point of the vehicle, perform commands to turn on and off the engine of the motorcycle. This test was carried out on a Supra X motorcycle in 2004, the results of this test registered fingerprint scan succeeded in turning on the motorcycle electricity so that it could be turned on, for the condition of the registered fingerprint damp can be read all but for dusty conditions it cannot be read, then for the distance of sending the user's SMS to the system does not affect the system command either near or far, at a certain distance with a BTS tower for a distance SIM800L of 100m and 1km can read a signal with a duration of 30 seconds at a distance of 2 km with a duration of 2 minutes and at a distance of 3 km with a duration of 10 minutes, then for the duration of the reading of GPS signals when indoors in the morning/afternoon with a duration of 15 minutes when the night is not readable & When outdoors in the morning/afternoon with a duration of 1 minute and at night 5 minutes. and for the duration of the notification delay or SMS delivery delay is affected by the operator's SIM signal on the SIM800L
