Abstract

Polypropylene plastic is a type of thermoplastic material characterized by its lightweight and resistance to heat and chemicals. The characteristics of polypropylene are widely used in various industrial applications such as packaging, automotive and household appliances. This study aims to determine the optimal temperature for testing plastic specimens and analyzing the effect of color intensity on maximizing the specimen formation process. This process uses injection molding equipments and Konica Minolta 3700A spectrophotometer. During the injection molding process, various temperature were applied from 200°C, 210°C, 220°C and 230°C. Subsequently, color analysis was conducted using Konica Minolta 3700A spectrophotometer to determine the color intensity of the specimen. The results of this study indicate thaat at a temperature of 200°C, the color intensity value was closest to the standard specification and makes it the optimal temperature. These findings provide important guidance for the industry in establishing efficient and effective process conditions to produce high-quality polypropylene products that meet industry standards.
