Abstract
Popular culture is a phenomenon that is currently widely found in society. One of the popular cultures that is being loved is Korean popular culture or what is commonly called the Korean Wave. Korean Wave consists of K-pop, movies, TV series, dramas, and reality shows. The outbreak of the Korean Wave is not spared from the role of social media and internet networks that make it easier for fans to obtain content. Parasocial relationships will continue to develop between fans and idols in the mass media because of exposure to parasocial interactions that occur continuously. This makes the relationship between fans and idols seem to be a two-way relationship The parasocial relationships developed in this study were to see how romantic attachments are built in the parasocial relationships of K- Pop fans and their idols. As a result, the three informants always try to be close to their idols, covering 4 components, namely emotions, cognition, behavior and fantasy. Although the three informants have differences in how they maintain closeness with their idols, the four components have a great influence on what they will do in the real world.
