Abstract
Purpose: Stimulation in children's gross motor development can be done by means of play activities that produce movements such as traditional game activities that are simple and easy for children to play. This research aims to develop traditional clogs games to improve children's kinesthetic intelligence. This type of research adopts a qualitative approach with a qualitative descriptive method. Kinesthetic intelligence is the intelligence in processing the body to do something related to the use of the body. Metodology: Early childhood education is a coaching effort aimed at children from birth to the age of six years which is carried out through the provision of stimuli to help physical and spiritual growth and development so that they are ready to enter further education. The data collection method is in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. Results: The achievement of gross motor development at the age of 4-5 years is that children are able to perform coordinated body movements between the eyes, hands, feet, and head in doing physical games with rules. The design of this traditional clog game tool product is made using wood, the foot hook uses an inner tire, and is given a touch of color from the pilox on the foot hook. Application/originality/vealue: The application of the development of traditional clogs games shows that the results of the first trial are included in the developing category as expected. The results of research that have been carried out show that using the development of traditional clogs can increase the kinesthetic intelligence of 4-5 year old children at Makarima Kartasura Islamic Kindergarten.
