Abstract

The educational approach is oriented towards academic achievement, development of students' well-being and holistic competencies. The incorporation of the concept of student wellbeing in IPAS center learning provides an approach that integrates various aspects such as religious, intellectual, emotional and social values as a whole. The purpose of this study is to (1) describe the realization of student wellbeing IPAS center learning in elementary school level students and (2) describe the realization of student wellbeing IPAS center learning in instilling holistic competence of elementary school level students. This research method uses a qualitative research design with a phenomenological design that explores the experiences of students, teachers, curriculum vice principal and principal at Diponegoro Elementary School in the IPAS center learning process in instilling holistic competencies. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation and documentation using data validity testing through triangulation. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Hubermen model which uses the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that (1) IPAS center learning has integrated natural science with social science in the project learning process that asks for student involvement and the impact of IPAS center learning has formed active and participatory students because students are always involved in direct activities related to real life in a comfortable and conducive process setting (2) IPAS center learning has a very significant role in supporting of students' well-being and the development of their holistic competencies. The results of the analysis show a clear improvement in various aspects of students' potential including intellectual, emotional, physical, social, aesthetic, and spiritual potential. The implication of this study is to contribute to learning practices in primary schools that focus on students' well-being and the integration of holistic learning.
