Abstract

Hydroponics is a method of growing crops using nutrient-enriched water without using soil. This system requires precise management of environmental parameters such as water pH, water temperature, air temperature and nutrient levels to ensure optimal plant growth. The aim of this research is to develop an IoT-based control system that can measure water pH levels, water temperature and air temperature and manage the provision of nutrients to hydroponic plants. This system uses a microcontroller connected to various sensors, such as the LDR sensor, pH sensor, TDS sensor, and DS18B20 sensor, as well as the DHT22 sensor for air temperature. The ESP32 WiFi module is used as a microcontroller. The tool is capable of displaying input value data and instructing the nutrient pump to turn on when the solute level in the water is below the 500-700 PPM limit and instructing the nutrient pump to turn off when the solute level is above the 500-700 PPM limit. The tool is capable of displaying input value data and commanding the pH up pump to turn on when the water pH is below the 4,0 limit and commanding the down pump to turn on when the water pH is above the 8,0 limit. The LDR sensor is able to read the light intensity and transmit it to the ESP32. When it's dark the tool will automatically be able to turn on the grow LED, and when it's bright the grow LED goes out.
