Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of work characteristics, work-life balance, and work environment on turnover intention, with work engagement as a mediating variable. The research employs a quantitative method using a survey approach, with a questionnaire as the data collection tool. The sample consists of employees in the barista coffee shop sector in Surakarta City, totaling 100 respondents. The results indicate that work characteristics, work-life balance, and work environment significantly influence turnover intention. Additionally, work engagement is found to mediate the relationship between the independent variables and turnover intention, where higher work engagement can reduce employees' desire to leave the organization. These findings provide practical implications for management to enhance employee work engagement through improvements in work characteristics, implementation of good work-life balance practices, and the creation of a supportive work environment.
