Abstract
The ability to manage thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in dealing with various situations is a very important ability for junior high school students to have to achieve success in various aspects of life, such as academic achievement, social relationships, and mental health. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between emotional intelligence and peer conformity with self-regulation of junior high school students. The research method used was in the form of quantitative correlation with research instruments using a questionnaire on the likert scale of emotional intelligence, peer conformity, and self-regulation. The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling. The subjects used in this study were junior high school students X. Data analysis in this study using multiple linear regression, the results showed that there was a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and peer conformity with self-regulation of junior high school students with a large F score (34.743) and a significance value (0.000 < 0.05) showing that there was a significant relationship between variables. Then the variable of emotional intelligence has a significant positive relationship with the self-regulation of junior high school students, as well as the variable of peer conformity has a positive correlation with the self-regulation of junior high school students. This means that simultaneously or partially the three variables have a significant relationship. The categorization of emotional distress is at a low level, peer conformity is at a moderate level and self-regulation of junior high school students is at a moderate level.
