Abstract

The art of shadow puppetry not only enriches Indonesia's cultural heritage, but also symbolizes the local wisdom and creative power of artists who depict the richness of this nation's cultural heritage. Problems faced by artists today often occur through private communication, which hinders public access and hinders the goal of cultural preservation. This study aims to design and implement an Android-based shadow puppet artist booking application, which facilitates booking artists according to user preferences and helps artists set fair prices. The method used is SDLC Prototype to develop an efficient application. The results of the app design and implementation include a user-friendly interface, artist search feature, efficient booking system, and integrated payment and booking confirmation options. Application testing involved black box and System Usability Scale (SUS) tests. The test results show that the system is usable and running well, with the SUS assessment reaching a score of 88 which is categorized as B/excellent. Thus, this mobile-based shadow puppet artist booking system is as expected and ready to use. This research is expected to facilitate the community in booking shadow puppet artist services and help preserve this cultural art.
