Abstract
The application of information technology in the current era can make people's work easier in all areas of life. One of these areas of competency is Decision Support Systems (DSS), which has the ability to support a chosen decision. In everyday life, people often experience difficulty in making decisions. SPK was created not to replace humans making decisions, but to support humans making decisions. One component that contributes to increasing higher education productivity is the level of people who work in these institutions. High level human resources can support the measurement of employee performance. With performance appraisals, we can see what each employee has achieved and can also motivate increased employee morale and performance. UMS employee performance evaluation so far still uses manual methods, therefore the process of measuring employee values is less efficient and effective in selecting the best employees. UMS also does not have a computer system that can support decisions in selecting the best employees. Therefore, a system needs to be built to help UMS leaders select the best employees. This research aims to create a system that can be used in making decisions about selecting the best employees at UMS and a system is built to obtain an assessment of each employee based on predetermined criteria using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) process. This method has the concept that the number of loads on each attribute is determined then the ranking technique is continued to select the best option according to the criteria that have been decided. With this calculation method, the system can support determining the best employees at UMS.
