Abstract

As Muslims, it is necessary to research Western thought, because this research is a form of effort to realize a pro-community Islamic economy. Western capitalism, for example, seeks to make aspects of liberalism and individualism private property, this is marked by the Industrial Revolution in England. It was this aspect of liberalism that made modern society at that time individual by means of privately producing tools and for those who did not own the means of production, there was no choice but to become slaves or proletarians. However, in Weber's view, capitalism is in line with the Protestant ethic by seeing how production works as a feature of a full life because God created humans to work hard. In Karl Marx's view, the efforts made by the bourgeoisie are exploitation of the workers who do not get a salary according to their work, meaning that the wages they get are only a little. However, Islam seeks to make the economy more pro-poor and based on monotheistic values
