Abstract
One of the problems related to the population and until now most countries have not been able to solve the problem of employment. This employment problem is also faced by Indonesia, seen from the number of open unemployment in Indonesia according to data from the Central Statistics Agency (2019), which recorded an increase in the number of unemployed by 50 thousand people as of August 2019. In Central Java Province alone during the 2017-2019 period the number of labor force in Central Java continues to increase, while the number of registered job vacancies tends to decrease. This shows the problem of absorption of labor in Central Java. The purpose of this study was to determine the direction and magnitude of the influence of GRDP, minimum wage and education level on employment in regencies/cities in Central Java Province in 2020. This study uses cross section data, namely data on labor, economic growth, wages and Education Levels in 2020 from Regencies/Cities in Java Province obtained from BPS Central Java Province. The results of the study show that the absorption of labor in Central Java during 2020 is influenced by the variables of the minimum wage and education level. Meanwhile, the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) variable does not affect employment in Central Java during 2020.
