Abstract

The Indonesian education system that has changed since the Covid-19 outbreak has caused changes in today's educational life. One of the problems that stands out is the inadequacy of moral education which is currently being felt by the world of Indonesian education. Islamic religious education teachers are people who provide knowledge with the aim of educating and fostering the morals of students to become people with good personalities. In the process of fostering the morals of students, an Islamic religious education teacher must have a strategy in the form of the right method because it plays the first and foremost role in the process of fostering the morals of its students, especially in conditions of covid-19 like this, teachers are required to be creative and innovative in moral development. Departing from that background, the writer wants to know the moral education strategy for seventh grade students at Muhammadiyah 7 Junior High School Surakarta and the factors that influence the moral education of VIII grade students at Muhammadiyah 7 Junior High School Surakarta. This type of research uses field research with a phenomenological approach. The data collection method used in this research is the observation method, the interview method, and the documentation method. Data analysis in this study is qualitative data analysis. From the results of the research that has been done, it is obtained data that the strategy of moral education for class VIII students at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta is through materials and activities while in the SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta school environment. The scope of this strategy consists of introducing the Muslim personality to each student, forming and teaching noble character, and teaching social values both in the school environment and in the neighborhood. Factors that influence moral education in SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta are the supporting factors that come from the family environment as controllers, facilitators, motivators for students and provide positive habits. Then the external environment with routine activities carried out by schools and schools as a motivator for students to have good morals. Then the inhibiting factor comes from internal factors that come from students' lack of motivation to learn and external factors are caused by difficult signals and there are students who do not have cellphones and have difficulty signaling
