Abstract
ABSTRACT Education is a process carried out in educating students to become a generations that has khowledge and moral values in life. With that Islamic religious educationteachers have an important role in improving student achievement. In carrying out its role, Islamic religious educations teachers must educators, motivators, evaluators, teachers and mentors students so that they can improve student achievement. On the other hand, Islamic religious education teachers in carrying out their roles, tehere are several supporting factors and inhibiting factors. The purpose of this study was to describe the role of Islamic religious education teachers in improving student achievement and to describe the supporting and inhibiting factors in improving student achievement in the creative class of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Andong. This research is a field research with a psychological approach. The research subjects were the teachers of Islamic religious education at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Andong. Methods of data collection using observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis used three steps, namely data reducation, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data used source triangulation and technical triangulation. The results of the study show that the role of Islamic religious education teachers is good, this is evidenced by the results of observations and interviews in the field that the role of Islamic religious education teachers in improving student achievement, namely as educators, motivators, evaluators, teachers and mentors as well as being parent for students. Supporting factors that influence the inprovement of student are physical health, willingness to learn and motivation in students, adequate learning facilities and a conducive environment and intensive mentoring. The inhibiting factors are the different abilities of students and the students’ environmental conditions are not good and the allocation of learning time in class limited.
