Abstract
Unemployment is one of the important indicators to measure the success of a country's development. The unemployment rate in ASEAN from 2010 to 2019 was still relatively high, which can cause the country's economy to become less stable. This study aimed to estimate the effect of economic growth, inflation, and human capital on the unemployment rate in ASEAN from 2010 to 2019 using a panel data regression with the Fixed Effects Model (FEM) approach. The results of this study indicated that, simultaneously, the three independent variables were statistically proven to affect unemployment. Meanwhile, partially, inflation and life expectancy had a negative effect on unemployment, while economic growth and average length of schooling did not to affect it. Governments are expected to increase domestic revenue by strengthening the trade balance, namely through increasing exports and increasing investment, so that economic growth is boosted. In addition, governments are also expected to provide various scholarship programs and other educational assistance so that more and more people can receive education in the hope of creating more quality human resources.
