Abstract
Recently, the development of the sharia economy has begun to show its existence and provides efforts that have a significant impact related to the large role of MSMEs in the Indonesian economy, and inrease needs and problems of business financing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Sharia-based business financing products such as Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR) at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) can be the right solution for MSMEs in financing their business. The problems that be formulated in this study is how are the SWOT analysis or strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats toward BSI KUR Mikro financing product in 2021 and how the muamalah contract is used for this product. This research was researched by using the library research method which collected valid information according to the object of research sourced from scientific papers, books, documents, internet, and others related to KUR Mikro at BSI. Based on the results of the SWOT analysis, it was found that there are a number of strengths and weaknesses from the internal side. Among the advantages of these products are sharia-based products, lighter application requirements, very small financing margins, no provision fees, light installments, can be submitted online, good risk management, positive manager performance, and very large management assets. In addition, this product has weaknesses such as the more popular conventional KUR, the margin size is not in accordance with the latest regulations, and there are conflicts regarding the mark-up scheme. From the external side, it was found that the product had a number of opportunities and threats. Among the opportunities are government support, KUR Mikro product are the most in demand, sharia bank performance that outperforms conventional banks, fatwa on conventional products, sharia KUR distribution which has increased significantly, and potential market opportunities. Meanwhile, the threats to these products are product policies that change frequently, perceptions against Islamic banking, low Islamic financial literacy index and Islamic financial inclusion, and little business model differentiation. Then, in practice, the contracts used for these products are dominated by murabahah contracts. The practice is in accordance with sharia principles, but there is a discrepancy between the product provisions and Permenko Nomor 3 Tahun 2021, specifically on the provisions on the amount of margin paid to debtors.
