Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe (1) the intrinsic elements in the novel Gelisah Camar Terbang by Gol A Gong, (2) describe the moral values contained in the novel Gelisah Camar Terbang by Gol A Gong, (3) the implementation of moral values in the novel Gelisah Camar Terbang by Gol A Gong as teaching materials in high school. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data analysis technique is reading carefully and then listening to the data in groups into structured and organized points. Then sort it into something that is in accordance with the research context and research object, then presented in the results and discussion of the report. The validity of the data or validity in this study. Data triangulation technique used to collect data. The results of this study are: (1) The intrinsic elements contained in the novel Gelisah Camar Terbang by Gol A Gong are theme, character, characterization, setting, plot, point of view, mandate. The theme in this novel is love, namely love for others, love for mother, love for family. The characters in this study are classified into main characters and additional characters. There are 19 characters discussed in this study. The timelines are divided into discoverable timelines and non-searchable timelines. The plot in this study uses a mixed plot. The point of view in this study uses a third-person omniscient point of view. The mandate in this research is that we must prioritize education for a better future. (2) The moral values contained in the novel Gelisah Camar Terbang by Gol A Gong are the values of honesty, authentic/authentic values, responsibility, independent values, courageous values, humble values, realistic and critical values. (3) The novel Gelisah Camar Terbang by Gol A Gong is relevant to literature learning and can be implemented as a literature teaching material in high school. This novel is implemented as a teaching material with the 2013 Curriculum class XII semester I, namely KD 3.8 Interpreting the author's view of life in the novel read KD 4.8 Presenting the results of interpretation of the author's views either orally or in writing.
