Abstract
Abstract Limitation of fat and carbohydrate intake in adolescent girls is influenced by body image. Adolescents who have a positive body image will feel satisfied with their body shape while adolescents with a negative body image will reduce their intake of fat and carbohydrates to get a body shape and size that they think is good. This study aims to determine the relationship between body image and intake of fat and carbohydrates in students of Nutrition Science, Faculty of Health, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta. The research method used is observational with a cross sectional research design. The sample of this study was a student of Nutrition Science, Faculty of Health, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta, totaling 91 respondents who were selected by using the simple random sampling technique. Body image data was obtained using the MBRSQ-AS questionnaire. Data on fat and carbohydrate intake were obtained using the estimated food record method 3x24 hours in a row and then compared with the 2019 RDA. Data analysis used Spearman Rank correlation test. The results of body image are classified as negative by 52.7%, fat intake which is classified as less by 58.2%, and carbohydrate intake which is classified as less by 94.5%. The conclusion of this study is that the results of the analysis showed that there was no relationship between body image and fat and carbohydrate intake (p = 0.463; p = 0.947) in Nutrition Science students, FIK UMS. It is expected that female students will increase their knowledge of body image so that they are expected to increase knowledge about body image so that a positive body image can be realized and the intake of nutrients per day is well fulfilled.
