Abstract

Humans are social creatures where humans need other humans to survive. Human behavior in this interaction creates mindsets, norms, values and beliefs that are passed down from generation to generation which we call culture. This culture is used by humans in acting in people's lives so that people who apply culture are called cultured people. Culture has a positive impact on the social environment because with culture the norms, characters, and manners that govern the way of human life are born. The existence of globalization which is increasingly rapidly developing has an impact on the entry of foreign cultures which tend to damage the character, norms, values, and even national identity. Efforts are needed to strengthen local culture so that the next generation is not exposed to the negative effects of the entry of foreign cultures, especially the culture of gratitude and apologizing as Javanese local cultural wisdom. Schools are not only a place for students to gain knowledge but also as a means for students to strengthen their character, norms, and manners, therefore schools should implement a positive culture. So that it is necessary to strengthen so that the implementation of culture can take place consistently by carrying out cultural management where culture can be well organized. The cultural reinforcement that stands out is the teacher's role as an example for their students, with this example students have role models, then building awareness and communication with parents is also carried out so that the culture taught in schools can be sustainable. Strengthening the culture is a solution in minimizing obstacles in the implementation of the culture of gratitude and apologizing as Javanese local wisdom. The culture of gratitude and apologizing gives students the character of being responsible, honest, caring, trustworthy, humble, patient, and sincere.
