Abstract
Background: In Indonesia, pregnant women with anemia are still suffering a health problem, as can be seen from the high prevalence of anemia according to Riskesdas in 2018 amounted to 48.9% of pregnant women experienced anemia, this figure increased by 11.8% from Riskesdas data in 2013. Consumption of fruit and vegetable juices that contain high iron can be an alternative for pregnant women to help increase iron intake and prevent occurrence of iron deficiency. Objective: To examine several scientific articles that discuss the effect of consuming fruit and vegetable juices with accompained blood-added tablets on hemoglobin levels of anemic pregnant women. Research Methods: Narrative review using 5 research articles that have an experimental research design through thedatabase Google Scholar. The inclusion criteria for the selected articles were in the form of full text in Indonesian or English with a time span between 2011-2021 and indexed by SINTA S1-S4 or Scopus Q1-Q4, the research subjects were pregnant women with anemia (<11 g/dL) and the intervention was accompanied by Fe tablets. . Results: The resuts of the review based on five articles, 2 articles included data on respondent characteristics, while the other 3 articles did not include such data. The characteristics of the research method used were pre-experimental, true-experimental and quasi-experimental research.iron sources of fruit or vegetables Non-heme used are beetroot, red dragon fruit, Moringa leaves, red spinach and green spinach combined with lemon and honey with different doses and continue to consume Fe tablets. The average duration of administration ranged from 5 days to 56 days (8 weeks). Conclusion: The administration of iron-sourced drinks with the consumption of Fe tablets in the articles studied may change the hemoglobin level of pregnant women with anemia with a p-value of 0.000 to 0.719.
